Synopsis

In this thrilling musical documentary the story is told of internationally acclaimed author and former member of Dutch parliament Ayaan Hirsi Ali and how she was threatened with expulsion from the Netherlands because she had allegedly lied on her asylum application. 
All major players talk and sing (!) about their role in this political intrigue, which led to the resignation of the Dutch government and attracted attention from national and international media. Ultimately The Lie shows that in politics nothing, not even a lie, is ever what it seems.
